Senior Accountant / Senior Financial Analyst - TOP Private Equity Firm in downtown Boston.
The team is responsible for corporate finance (Budgeting, FP&A Projects, variance analysis), accounting, financial reporting and consolidation services, and the preparation of financial statements for the numerous legal entities and partnerships. This position is part of a team that is responsible for the accounting for the operating entities for PE firm business units. The Private Equity firm undergoing significant growth and will provide exposure to and require close coordination with the operational business units it supports. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with members within the Corporate Finance & Accounting with a primary responsibility to the business units it supports. The position will have core responsibilities typical corporate finance, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting projects and.
Participate in Quarterly and Annual budgeting, providing variance analysis as needed for various investment business units.
Actively participate in company's month end accounting close, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, re-billing, variance analysis and financial reporting for company's operating entities
Assist in the timely, accurate and complete preparation of financial reporting
Responsible for recording accounting entries to Oracle general ledger system.
Utilize Hyperion Essbase tools to prepare and provide reporting and financial analysis
Provide business unit(s) with well written financial commentary on monthly results as well as the account reconciliations
Participate in the response to inquiries from management, auditors and regulatory agencies regarding accounting policies, procedures and problems
Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures as well as administering existing policies and procedures
Participate in the development and completion of special projects as assigned
Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors, including financial statements and audit schedules
Keep abreast of the business and the impact of accounting issues on the business
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, MSA / CPA is helpful
Minimum 2 - 5 years of relevant Corporate Finance & Accounting experience (prior public accounting is a plus)
Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines
***Experience with other industries (outside of investment management / financial services) is actually a big plus for this position. (As this is the "Corporate Finance & Accounting Group")
