Our client is a top Private Equity firm with several billion $ in asset under management, located in downtown Boston, with a systematic approach to selecting the absolute best companies in the most rapidly growing industries / global marketplaces.
The hired Analyst will focus on the following responsibilities for a variety of Private Equity investment vehicles / funds:
Extrapolate data from existing systems in order to create and maintain reports and spreadsheets.
Prepare of daily analysis of investment activity and performance, including capital reporting to investors and investment returns analysis
Analyze and summarize variance reports and quarterly re-forecasts and report significant permanent variances to management.
Assist in preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annual)
Collaborate with Tax group to prepare partnership tax returns and appropriate K1 schedules for all investors.
Work with legal department to analyze investment and financial provisions in various contracts / legal agreement.
Participate and assist in portfolio capital and re-forecast reviews.
Work with Investment Management to review operations, procedures and spending.
Complete monthly reports in an efficient and timely manner, and identify negative variance trends.
Over time, make suggestions on how to mitigate variances.
Collaborate with external CPA (Big 4) audit firm on quarter / year end audits.
2 – 4 years of appropriate experience. If coming directly from public accounting – the experience on the audit side should come from a client base in the following industries: Financial Services, Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Real Estate. If on the tax side, there is a preference for experience with partnership taxation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business – Accounting or Finance concentration is preferred. GPA of 3.0 +
CPA / MST / MSA / MSF – is preferred. (either completed, in process or planned)
