Kip Hollister of Boston-based staffing firm Hollister, Inc. to be sworn into the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board

BOSTON, June 10, 2009 – Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick will swear Kip Hollister, Founder and CEO of Hollister, Inc., a leading, Boston-based staffing firm, into the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board (MWIB) at the Board’s June 10 meeting. The swearing in ceremony will take place at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, following a welcome from MWIB Co-chair Joseph Bevilacqua and Wentworth President Zorica Pantic.

As a recent inductee, Hollister will join the established mix of private sector employers, agency heads, legislators, and representatives from state and local workforce development entities that comprise the MWIB. MWIB members will convene throughout the upcoming year to advise the Governor on building a strong workforce development system that satisfies state education policies and economic development goals.

“The MWIB is a crucial resource for the Governor and the state of Massachusetts, especially with the recent flux in employment,” said Hollister. “I am honored to have been selected as a new Board member. I look forward to working with the Board to find solutions to the challenges our state’s workforce is facing in these difficult economic times.”

In addition to welcoming new members, the June 10 MWIB meeting will cover such important topics as higher education priorities, the Massachusetts State Plan and the expansion of work and learning opportunities for youth.
