In collaboration with the VP for Advancement and the Senior Director of Advancement, participate in implementing planned IA events
Direct the planning and execution of all IA events, including large receptions, small donor gatherings, in Boston and NYC.
For event execution, coordinate invitation production and distribution; management of guest lists and RSVPs; menu design; vendor engagement; event logistics; and event program choreography
For event follow-up, manage prospect/donor correspondence, post-event program and logistics evaluation, and tracking and reconciliation of event-related expenses.
Build strong working relationships with Whitehead Institute’s staff for the purposes of planning and executing IA events
In collaboration with Development Communications Specialist, select and assemble collateral materials appropriate to specific events
Perform other duties as necessitated by the position or as assigned.
A minimum of 2-3 years of directly related event planning experience, preferably in a development setting
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be highly organized, self-motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize.
Must be able to interact comfortably and productively with internal staff and external volunteers and donors at all levels.
