The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional reading and writing skills, is detail oriented, and also have confident and communicative demeanor.

Verifies completeness of new, revised, and resubmitted manuscripts and videos; makes minor edits to manuscript text and/or author contact information as necessary
Contacts authors to address issues with submission format
Prepares new, revised, and resubmitted manuscripts and videos for assessment by editors
Serves as primary contact for authors regarding submission requirements, manuscript status, and other issues
Provides basic technical support to authors and reviewers experiencing difficulty with the online submission websites
As necessary, enters manuscript submissions on behalf of authors
Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors, answers all queries related to potential manuscript submissions.
Monitors the telephone switchboard, directing all calls as appropriate
Answers general queries from the lay public (by phone, e-mail, fax, or letter)
Provides general administrative support for the office, including monitoring the postage meter, distributing mail, greeting and screening all visitors, and maintaining office/kitchen supplies
Provides other editorial and administrative support as requested.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a medical or academic environment is required.
Strong computer user skills required.
Good organizational skills as well as solid interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
Strict attention to detail is essential.
Experience in writing and editing of written material
