Publicly traded Global Biotech / Pharma company is seeking an experienced Global Controller to join their rapidly growing team. The company has also been growing at a rapid pace and nearly doubling the size of the company over the last 3 years from both a revenue & employee count standpoint. This opportunity is within the global HQ of the organization and will become an active member of an already impressive leadership team.
As the Global Controller, you will be part of a 30-person Accounting & Finance team, responsible for overseeing global operations along with being heavily involved in revenue recognition, monthly close, and working closely with the leadership on corporate strategy. This will be a highly visible & strategic role that will work closely with all levels of the organization on key project initiatives.
Leads global finance team
Responsible for the company's global financial accounting practices and policies, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
Oversee monthly financial close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Ensure timely and accurate filings of Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and other periodic filings with the SEC, including S-8s, S-3s, and 8-Ks.
Collaborate with our internal teams to ensure relevant information is shared timely, including tax, treasury, FP&A, human resources, legal and others as needed.
Ensure accounting policies, procedures and controls are followed in compliance with GAAP & SOX guidelines
Take the lead on research around technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, equity modifications, purchase accounting, capitalization of software development, income taxes, and lease accounting.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement change to increase efficiency, streamline workflow and controls
Ensure internal/external reporting is accurate and consistent
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, as required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
Prior public accounting experience preferred
12+ years of relative experience
Strong understanding/proficiency of Technical Accounting and Revenue Accounting (ASC 606)
Ability to multitask, prioritize, provide financial advice and influence decision making
Excellent communication skills – must be able to connect with senior-level colleagues
