Regional College in Boston is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join the Universities Accounting Division. As the Payroll Accountant, you will be reporting into the Accounting Manager and supporting the bi-weekly payroll processing. This will be a collaborative role that supports the Accounting Department, HR, Academic Affairs, and interacts with the Academic Deans.
Prepare and process biweekly payroll using ADP
Update and manage payroll records (e.g., updating employee personnel records, employment records, and benefit changes)
Interface with accounting to ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll financial data.
Monitor payroll related state reports, state tax filings, and regulatory agency communications
Prepare schedules to support annual compliance reports
Responsible for areas of the 403(b) planning and preparation work.
Submit employee benefits changes each payroll
Develop and maintain all payroll operation policies and procedures
Maintain expertise in legislative and regulatory changes pertaining to payroll
Support HR & Accounting team with various projects and reports as requested
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred
2+ years of payroll experience
Knowledge of payroll rules/regulations in an automated processing environment involving multiple states
Proven ability to calculate payroll with accuracy, meeting all related deadlines; significant experience preparing payroll-related journal entries
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management
Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
