We are looking for an individual to join a growing team within a startup Fund Company, located Downtown Boston. The firm was formed just over 10 years ago, under one of the most experienced, and seasoned private equity firms worldwide. The company has since grown to oversee a large portfolio (over $15B in AUM and increasing).
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for general accounting and fiscal-period closings. The successful candidate will communicate and interact with auditors, various internal leadership, and other management members on a regular basis.
Prepare investments for public investment company
Collaborate with administrators on financial reporting
Review wires and transfers prior to approval
Interact with auditors on internal controls and quarterly audit work
Resolve investment closings, payment and interest reconciliations, and portfolio reporting with internal operations teams.
Prepare management fee calculations
Coordinate and perform special projects as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA (or progress towards obtaining CPA) a plus
2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Demonstrate excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, problem-solve, and prioritize multiple tasks
Compensation: Up to $70K
