Our client, a leading research and educational institute in Cambridge, MA is looking for an experience lab facilities manager to manage offices and labs for 500+ faculty, staff, students and researchers, spread among multiple buildings and interdisciplinary research including, cancer treatment research, solar panel technologies and water purification.

Due to COVID-19 this role will start out partially remote (3x week). Must be able to go onto campus in Cambridge, to the labs 2x/week.
Responsible for managing interdisciplinary facilities with complex instrumentation and labs ensures that 7 day/24 hours/365 days operational coverage is provided.
Manage relationships with multiple support units and serve as a liaison between the department and grounds, custodial services, repair and maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, pest control, recycling, electrical, environmental health and safety, fire protection, facilities engineering.
Facilitate complex renovation projects
Monitor routine maintenance, space upkeep, emergency repairs, furnishings, moving/storage, capital improvement needs, facility design and construction and environmental health and safety issues of all departmental spaces
Provide long-term space management planning; make enhancements to department facility policies and procedures
Serve as the departmental representative to the Office of Campus Planning
Provide support for other large scale products as needed
Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field
3 years’ + relevant experience work in lab research
In-depth understanding of building systems; experience with project management and dealing with building facilities, systems, and construction; and proficiency with computer hardware and standard software.
Strong communication written and verbal communication skills
Must be in-tune with new technology, space management software, tech savvy
Ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent tasks
work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team member.
