Senior SAS Programmer Analyst
Our client is a collaboration between academia and public health care with the goal of identifying and reporting on medical product efficacy and risk. This highly respected organization is involved in forward thinking and creative data analytics and, having received a 5 year grant from the federal government, they are expanding their staff. One leader in data analytics is looking to hire 3 highly motivated Senior SAS Programmer Analysts to join their organization full time.
Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test and execute SAS programs using administrative healthcare data in a distributed data network environment
- Manage, perform and document quality control testing of SAS programs, in accordance with internal standard operating procedures and guidelines
- Lead analytic and statistical programming activities in the production of analysis datasets and in support of the Sentinel rapid query system
Requirements:
- Senior level SAS Programming skills and the ability to learn a complex system - QRP (query request package) which represents over 30,000 lines of code
- Beyond programming, this person must be interested in learning existing code, understand the package, the modules, the interdependencies, then add functionality and output in a way that is optimal for the system
- Experience working on Agile product development teams
- Outstanding communicator (verbal and written) and highly collaborative
- Extensive SAS macro development experience, including the development of applications/systems that are exclusively macro- and table/data-driven
- SAS hash object programming experience
- Experience writing and reviewing functional and technical programming specifications
- Experience analyzing large administrative healthcare data a must
