Our client, a non-profit healthcare organization in Lowell, MA is looking for experienced healthcare professionals to join their team as a referral coordinator. This position is a long-term temporary position with potential to go perm. The role is starting ASAP - must have immediate availability!
Process all incoming referrals using the ERM system
Verify insurance information and insure coverage for patients
Assist with scheduling of elective and non-elective medical procedures for the department
Communicate with insurance companies and patients with any discrepancies
Gather proper paperwork from patients, medical facility and insurance company and insure accuracy
Assist patients with questions by phone and in person
Work with a team of professionals, and attend meetings
2 years of healthcare experience needed
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with referrals and electronic medical records
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Comfortable talking with patients, insurance companies and other doctors offices via phone and in person
Knowledge of health care systems and insurance a plus
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Portuguese or Khmer a plus!
