Our Client is a financial services company based in New England looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in automation, infrastructure configuration and networking protocols. This position will serve in a newly created role designed to bridge software development and infrastructure operations and develop/implement systems and software to increase site reliability and performance. Research, evaluate, and evangelize implementation of new technologies and procedures to increase system reliability and interoperability
Ensure diagrams are up to date, dependencies of other services are met with monitoring and logging plans, backups and possible high availability setups are created and maintained
Support Production systems and respond to operational and security incidents
Define and establish Meantime to Resolution (MTTR) goals and leverage tools and processes to meet goals
Contribute to the advancement of both software development and infrastructure efforts
Build, borrow, or procure, automation tools and scripts to minimize manual work
Ability to work extended hours to include nights, weekends and on call to ensure systems reliability may be necessary
Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure design and deployment with software development experience
Proficiency with VMWare, SAN/NAS Management, Veeam, and Ivanti
Experience with automation and configuration tools such as UiPath, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Powershell
Knowledge of secure configuration, development and deployment practices and training
Experience with Background server management, virtual engineering, hyper converged infrastructure, storage management, patch and vulnerability management and remediation is preferred
