Senior Systems Engineer

Our Client is a service and solution technology provider looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead multiple projects and be accountable for the outcome. There are a number of system upgrades and migrations planned and the team needs two additional System Engineers to help move the project forward. Responsibilities:

• Serve as an Engineer and subject matter expert for all database types
• Configure and troubleshoot systems; as well as, complex network problems
• Assist with architecture, planning, marketing, engineering, and operations organizations with design/implementation of new platforms/services
• Provide Tier III support
• Interface with internal/external leadership

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience supporting database backup and recovery
• Strong hands on experience with Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Linux KVM Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), VMware, and scripting around system automation (Perl, Python)
• Ability to serve as backup for Configuration Management Lead using Saltstack, open-source software for event-driven IT automation, remote task execution, and configuration management.
• Experience with Unix is a huge plus
