Infrastructure Operations Mainframe DB2 Senior Engineer
Our client is a financial services company looking to hire a full time Mainframe DB2 Senior Engineer. This role will be remote to start but will eventually need to be onsite in one of the following locations: Princeton NJ, Clifton NJ, Jersey City NJ, Quincy MA, or Boston MA. Responsibilities:
- Handle the global management of the Operations team members including service providers
- Institute and govern KRI's, KPIs and Metrics related for operational procedures
- Function as the SME & Management escalation point of contact for major incidents
- Oversee Incident, Change, Knowledge, and Problem Management accountability
- Perform cost optimization and simplification for platform
- Collaborate with Service Delivery, Engineering, ITSM, Architecture, Application teams, Technology vendors, Security, Application support and other infrastructure operations teams
Requirements:
- B.S or M.S. Degree in a related field
- 10+ years as a Level 3 Production Support Engineer
- 10 + years of experience in managing a global platform operations team in a high demanding industry i.e. Banking or Finance
- Deep understanding of DB2 Relational Design concepts and partitioning
- Strong Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Analytical, Collaboration and Decision Making Skills
- Experience in Vendor, Budget, & Project Management
- Experience with mainframe and DB2 tools such as Omegamon, Query Monitor, zSecure, Log Analysis, and RMF Monitor
- Experience with QREP performance troubleshooting and determination
- Strong experience with z/OS, DB2, TSO,CICS, JCL, JES2, USS, FTP, NDM, RACF
- MQ & Scheduling Experience
