Acting as the initial point of contact for outside requests
Following the developing news stories about the University Department in order to effectively handle news media requests for information and access
Managing some events and communication and correspondence for the Dean's Office
Utilizing social media to communicate the mission of the institution and engaging with prospective and current students
Completing all other tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications; Master's degree preferred
Effective professional communication skills that demonstrate consistency and clarity
Excellent writing, grammar, spelling, proofreading and editing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with professional application of social media platforms, including strategic thinking Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design software and concepts
Demonstrated knowledge of website architecture, production and best practices
High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and in web applications; Prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite required
