Top tier Investment Manager located in Downtown Boston is looking to expand their Operations team with this add-to-staff position. In this role, the individual will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and will oversee a mix of Operations, Accounting, and Compliance. Downtown Boston office. A background in Financial Services (Investment Management, Asset Management, Private Equity, Hedge Fund experience) is a must, Public Accounting experience is preferred but not required. CPA is a huge plus.
Lead and manage fund accounting and operations for company Funds:
Ownership of client deliverables including financial statements, investor statements, capital call notices, distribution notices, and other ad-hoc reporting as required.
Perform audit analyses for the financial statement tax disclosures, back-testing manager-reported values, and critically analyzing underlying investment funds’ audited financial statements
Identify and execute on efficiency and process improvement opportunities and communicating improvements to management and other internal teams
Develop, implement and ensure compliance with internal controls and processes;
Implement technology and systems to maintain accounting data internally and verify against the external fund administrator; Test all internal controls, prepare reports for any exceptions
Production of investor allocations and calculation of management/ incentive fees.
Posting accounting entries to ledger
Ensure strong internal and external communications on status, issues, and expectations.
Ad hoc projects as required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
1-5 years of experience
CPA is highly preferred
Public Accounting experience is preferred but not required
Analytical, logical, and methodical
Ability to interact with Senior Level Management
Advanced skills in Excel preferred.
Able to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
