Kip explained to them how she was fortunate in her first job to have a boss who introduced her to meditation. Through this practice, she discovered that she was able to feel more confident and self-assured. The reality that her negative thinking was a habit that could be shifted had completely stunned her. Kip reassured the group by saying, “Here’s the truth team: you are not your thoughts.” Kip explained that our thoughts create our reality, so it is critical to focus on feeding our positive thoughts. Ultimately, we each get to choose whether or not we will be imprisoned by our minds.
She ended the session by leading the group through a guided meditation. The girls’ response was overwhelming – many of them claimed they felt relieved of their stress, as well as a sense of calmness and happiness. It was an eye-opening hour. Everyone left feeling invigorated, optimistic and excited.
